About Rhys
After finishing school at Nelson College for Boys in 2003, I took on a new challenge: a building apprenticeship in Nelson.
I learned the art of craftsmanship while working on historical houses and modern homes, gaining a deep appreciation for both design and detail.
I grew up in Blaketown, a small suburb of Greymouth on the West Coast. As a 9-year-old, I spent hours exploring the hills, where my passion for nature and hidden treasures first sparked.
That love for discovery only grew as I ventured into new places and uncovered more along the way.
In 2014, I returned to New Zealand to start my own business, focusing on building and renovating homes. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I reconnected with old friends, met my life partner, Kim-Maree, and continued exploring—whether hiking locally or traveling abroad to places like Italy and Dubai.
By late 2022, I knew it was time to take things to the next level. Inscope Buildings joined Certified Builders, establishing ourselves as leaders in quality building services.
When I completed my apprenticeship, I combined my passion for exploration with my trade by heading to Australia.
There, I worked on fast-paced construction projects like mine camps, which taught me the value of teamwork and sharpened my skills in managing complex builds from start to finish.
"My commitment to growth both personally and professionally continues to shape our success, as we deliver top-tier results with a collaborative, people-first approach,"
